I am a board-certified emergency medicine physician with subspecialty training in sports medicine and fellowship training in wilderness medicine. My clinical experience spans a broad spectrum of emergency care environments, including high-acuity Level I trauma centers, urban community hospitals, and critical access rural emergency departments. I bring a systems-based, high-reliability approach to acute care, with a particular focus on sports-related injuries, environmental exposure, and prehospital emergency response.

In addition to my clinical practice, I have served as a ringside physician for both amateur and professional mixed martial arts (MMA) events, providing medical oversight in compliance with state and athletic commission regulations. My background as a former semi-professional athlete, MMA coach, and gym owner informs my understanding of athletic performance, injury prevention, and return-to-play protocols. I have also held roles as medical director for large-scale endurance and multisport events, including triathlons and adventure races, managing mass gathering medical operations and contingency planning.

Outside of medicine, I remain active in youth sports development and currently coach youth baseball in East Texas. I value time outdoors with my wife and two sons, and enjoy mountain biking, fishing, hunting, and competitive shooting sports. These personal interests align closely with my professional commitment to wilderness and austere medicine, where adaptability, resilience, and readiness are critical.

My integrated background in emergency medicine, sports and wilderness medicine, and athletic performance uniquely positions me to contribute to both clinical practice and medical program development in high-performance and high-risk environments.
